Gothic baby names...?

Me and my boyfriend are both Goths and we would like to give our child a name that reflects our culture. We have already two names from each gender that we have thought long and hard about:





For a boy it will be Shadow Bones or Draven Krueger


For a girl it will be November Lily or Chaos Moon





The baby's last name will be Darnell.





Which out of the two do you prefer, or which do you think would be accepted more into society? Do not suggest any other names, and if you are going to ridicule these names then I don’t want you answering. This is my child!

Gothic baby names...?
I don't like Krueger, only because some moron is going to assume you named him after Freddy Jrueger, and thereby assume you aren't being genuine or aren't truly "practicing" your lifestyle. What I mean is that some schmuck is gonna assume you listen to HateBreed and wear fishnets from Hot Topic.


I'm really hoping this isn't the "goth" lifestyle you prescribe to.





That said, I like November Lily, I also like the idea of Lily Moon, that's super cute. I also like Shadow, but the same thing goes for Bones. I think its a stretch. People are retarded, you may have the best intentions with choosing a name, but never underestimate the power of stupid people in large numbers.
Reply:Shadow Bones: Shadow is a pet name, Bones makes it teasable





Draven Kreuger: Draven is okay, but is the goth name of choice, making it less unique. Kreuger is awful because of the movie association.





November Lily: Pretty, but everyone will ask her if she was born in November. Then they will be confused.





Chaos Moon: Moon is a pretty middle name, but Chaos has such a negative meaning. :(

Desdemona Nyx


Solstice Raven


Pandora Onyx





Draco Gryphon


Nicodemus Danior


Samhain Odin

I think Shadow, Bones, Chaos and Moon are definately a bad idea


If I had to choose, I'd pick Draven Krueger and November Lily.





I know you don't want suggestions, but I thought Eris (Greek goddess of strife and discord) might be an alternative to Chaos. What do you think?



Reply:Draven Krueger and November Lily...As for the remark about it being your baby....yes it is YOUR baby, and YOUR baby will have to live with this name for the rest of their life, not you. Don't forget to think about how society will treat your child, not that it should matter too much, but they will have to go to school, and kids can sometimes be cruel.

Reply:Well...Personally I think that Shadow Bones sounds like a comic book charachter, a fictitious character. Draven Krueger is much nicer.


For a girl, November Lily is a really nice name.

Reply:November Lily OH YEAH and she is right. that is just like us Christians naming our babies Heaven or a name from the bible, what if our children grow up and at the age of like 30 decide to be atheist? Although we dont hold the same beliefs I do not see ANYTHING wrong with you naming your child to reflect your religious belief.











Oh yeah, If the child hates his/her name so much she/he can and will change it when he/she gets old enough to do so.

We are naming our daughter Salem Kaine and get a lot of crap from people. They either love it or hate it and say it sounds evil. Name them what you want and know that you've chosen what you two like the best.

Also, why would you give your child a name that automatically makes him a target for mean children??? You are setting up another child to become a misguided, social outcast. November Lily is bareable! Personally though I think you should remember that you might be goths but your child may not be.
